My TV is a weird hooker (In a TV kind of way)

Since my TV has a whole bunch of inputs, you know composite, component, s-video, VGA, HDMI and the like. I got the idea to hookup my PC to my TV through the VGA input. Apparently, it dont do the signal my PC uses. I believe my PC does the DVI signal or some sort of signal my TV doesn’t support. Aww well, at least I confirmed that the TV can do 1080p, so take that suckas!

I like Final Fantasy 8 more than Final Fantasy 7

Now when you read that, a few of you are like: “What the hell man!? You Must be crazy! I’m gonna kick ya ass sucka man! What are you smoking!!?? Share!”

Don’t get me wrong, I like FF7. First FF game in 3D, and it is awesome. Barret with his awesome gun for a hand! Cloud, Tifa, Aeris, Sephiroth, all kick ass! I just like Final Fantasy 8 more, in fact Final Fantasy 8 is my favorite Final Fantasy, and here are some of the reasons why.

1. Squall Leonhart. Yes, he doesn’t follow the conventional protagonist rule of male heroes with blond hair that should look like Gackt. No he doesn’t! Final Fantasy 8 is different, and Squall is one of the reasons why. Sure in the beggining of the game, he does seem emo-like, laconic, and arguably damn near suicidal. But you get in the game, and he as a character starts to grow, and becomes what all Final Fantasy heroes are.

2. Draw Mechanic. Yes I will fully admit, it is one weird game mechanic. Instead of using MP for magic spells, you instead use draw points. Each magic spell has draw points attached to it. You draw magic from enemies, more points you get, more times you can use that spell. But with that, you can apply those points to stats of the characters in a “junction”. You can magic to stats, strength, luck, things like that, more magic you have, the higher that stat goes. If done right, you might not even need to use summons, or GFs in FF8’s case in hard fights.

3. Story. ” In a time of both sophisticated technology and powerful magic, an evil sorceress corrupts the world’s largest military power through manipulation and deception, enslaving mankind to do her bidding. Her goal is not something as simple as world domination; but to completely conquer all of space and time.
To counter the turn of events, various leaders head combat training schools, known as Gardens, that turn out elite fighting forces. Known as SeeDs, they defend, serve, and protect humankind from the sorceress. The sole purpose of these academies is to vanquish the sorceress and save humanity as we know it, although they take many other assignments for the right price.

A small, loose-knit group of SeeD graduates find themselves wrapped in a much bigger endeavor than simple military combat. Now, a gunblade specialist, together with a diverse group of young heroes, must set aside his fears, face the emotions he’s run from, and become the leader that he never wanted to be.” Taken from ffonline.com

Filled with love, anger, mystery, flashbacks and great dialogue make FF8’s plot a one to remember. Plot is more personal than previous FFs. Covers all four disks, always giving new information, but never enough to connect everything until you actually watch the ending FMV.

There you go, some of the reasons why Final Fantasy 8 is my favorite one. Again, you got a problem with the reasoning, go ahead and sent me angry emails, IMs and such, you wanna fight about it? See me in the apple orchard son!

What would I do to brawl? (Spoiler Alert)

I would bring a tec-nine (not the rapper, but I should bring him too), a switchblade to stab dudes in the foot if i get shot in the leg.

Oh wait a second, i meant to talk about Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I will just a name a few things I would like to see in Brawl or any other edition in the series, keep in mind that this is just all fantasy and probably wont happen, but if they did, I would totally trip the fuck out about it.

Characters:

Amaterasu

Thank You Gamespot.com for giving me the idea of her in Brawl. >>Link to See What I am Talking About<< She is the main character in Okami, her tail is used normally to return beauty to the world. Click that link, browse around a bit to find her and there is a little more in-depth bio of her. Now think about it, final smash: Use her tail to paint whatever to hurt your foes, or just slash them till they die, either one works, but seriously, that would be awesome to have her there.

Revolver Ocelot

Since Snake is in Brawl, why not have the guy who has been following the whole family of Snake all this time? In Metal Gear Solid 4, Liquid apparently has taken over the whole body to become Liquid Ocelot, but I am talking about when Liquid was just in his hand as seen in Metal Gear Solid 2. That gun of his I could see doing some damage if done right like Fox’s gun for example. Or with projectile items, maybe damage and accuracy is raised when Ocelot has them in hand maybe? Final Smash: Something totally unrealistic, the hand that Liquid lives in becomes massive and can smack half of the stage. Or since Liquid in in the hand, why not for a little bit have Liquid gain total control of the body, and then Liquid Ocelot jumps into Metal Gear REX to rain down death from above?

Iron Man

Tony Starks aka Iron Man has a suit with jetboots, Up B anyone? Repulsor rays, pulse beams, missile launchers, lasers, tasers, and flamethrowers, some of those have to make it somewhere right? I know that Sega has the rights to Iron Man, but I would like to see him in SSB. (But Sega has Sonic as well…..hmmm?) If Iron Man had a stage, he could use his suit to turn the stage to help him, cheap I know, but awesome at the same time. Final Smash: Similar to Lucario’s Final Smash, flies up into the air, and unleashes unibeam energy from the center of his chest down at the stage, or fire missiles, either one works.

Items

I have only 1 item and 1 item only and that is…. Captain America’s Shield. We all know that the original Captain America Steve Rogers is dead, but his shield cant die. It’s made of Vibranium people. It can withstand any damage to it, unless it is being attacked by another weapon of Vibranium. It bounces around the stage, well whatever I want it.

P.S. I added some music to the music player

New Edtion of Thinking Memories & Podcast News!

Podcast news first, i am still trying to find some sort of magic formula I can do that works well, just bare with me with these first few episodes, where I am still trying to find the right voice for the podcast, and the next episode will be another attempt to find a right voice. If anyone has any ideas, go ahead and comment, just remember that I will have to approve each comment on the blog, but I will look at it.

Now to Thinking Memories:

There is this one movie which is one of my favorites, if not my all time favorite movie:

 The Sandlot

Click the link for a proper summary of the movie. I say this is one of my favorite movies ever because it has everything you want from a family sports movie: Great Plot, Great Amount of Sports and the most important one, it is funny. To me, The Sandlot is one of those movies where I am always tempted to go back and watch over and over again, a plot that is timeless in a way, and the jokes are still funny to this day. Great Soundtrack as well. And it has underflowing ideals of life, hey if you can have kids learn the game of baseball, laugh and learn life ideals, what else can you ask for from a family sports comedy movie?
